How a URL QR code works
A URL QR code stores a web address in the pattern. When a camera recognizes it, the phone shows or opens that address in a browser. FreeQRFast adds https:// when you enter a normal domain without a scheme, helping scanners recognize it as a link rather than plain text.
Codes made here are static. The scan goes directly to the URL you supplied, without a FreeQRFast tracking or redirect page. That keeps the code private and independent, but the encoded address cannot be edited after you download or print it.

Tips for a QR code that works in the real world
Use a stable URL
A printed static code cannot be edited. Link to a page or short URL you control when the final destination may change later.
Prefer HTTPS
Use the secure, final version of the address. Avoid session links, private preview URLs and links that expire after a short time.
Shorter links make simpler patterns
A shorter payload usually produces a less dense code that remains easier to scan when printed small. Remove unnecessary tracking parameters when you do not need them.
Test in the real placement
A preview that works on a monitor can fail on a curved package or glossy sign. Test the final size, material, lighting and viewing distance before a print run.
Privacy and permanence
A direct, static link with no scan tracking
The URL is turned into a QR pattern in your browser. FreeQRFast does not receive the address you enter, store it in an account or create a redirect record for it.
When someone scans the result, their phone goes to the encoded destination. The destination website may collect normal visit data under its own policies, but the scan does not pass through FreeQRFast and we do not receive scan counts.
Static codes do not expire because our service is not needed after the image has been created. The destination can still move, close or block access, so use a URL you expect to remain available.

How do I turn a link into a QR code?

Do I need to include https:// in the URL?
You can paste a normal domain without it and FreeQRFast adds https://. Supplying the complete final URL yourself is still best when the address uses a specific scheme, subdomain, path or query string.
Can I change the URL after printing the QR code?
Not inside the static QR code. It always contains the original address. If you encode a short URL or redirect that you control, you can change where that separate link points later.
Does FreeQRFast track scans of my URL QR code?
No. The code links directly to your destination and does not use a FreeQRFast redirect, so we do not receive scan events or provide analytics.
Will my URL QR code expire?
The code itself does not expire. It keeps encoding the same address. It will stop being useful if the destination URL is removed, changed or no longer accessible.
Should I download a URL QR code as PNG or SVG?
Use PNG for slides, websites and other screen-based uses. Use SVG for professional printing because it scales cleanly without becoming pixelated.
