What a WiFi QR code contains
A WiFi QR code stores a network name (SSID), security type and, when needed, the password in a standard text format. A compatible camera reads those fields and offers to connect. The code does not improve the WiFi signal or bypass the security settings on the router.
Network names and passwords are case sensitive. Copy them exactly, choose the matching security option, and mark the network as hidden only when it really is hidden. A typo still makes a valid QR pattern, but it will point the phone at credentials that cannot connect.

Tips for a QR code that works in the real world
Use a guest network
Anyone who can see or photograph the code can recover its password. Share a separated guest network, not credentials for sensitive devices or internal systems.
Check the security setting
WPA covers the common WPA/WPA2/WPA3 option in the generator. Use WEP only for a genuinely old WEP network, and no password only for an open network.
Test with more than one phone
Camera and operating-system support varies. Test the finished code on the kinds of iPhone and Android devices your guests are likely to use.
Replace the sign after a password change
This is a static QR code. Changing the router password does not update a printed copy, so generate and print a new one.
Privacy and permanence
Private generation, visible credentials
The SSID and password you enter are processed by JavaScript in your browser to draw the QR code. They are not uploaded to FreeQRFast. Closing or refreshing the page clears the values from the generator.
The finished code itself contains the network details. That is what makes one-scan joining possible, but it also means a person with access to the image can decode those details. Treat the printed code like a written copy of the password and place it accordingly.
The code is static and has no FreeQRFast redirect in the middle. It does not expire, collect scan analytics or contact our server when someone scans it.
